As City of Annapolis Ward 3 Alderwoman, here is a list of activities I have participated in, meetings I have attended, and events I have supported in the month of June 2025:


  • Due to a family emergency in the morning, I participated in a Half-Day Special City Council (Budget) Meeting for Budget Discussion and Deliberations Meeting with the Acting City Manager

  • Chaired the monthly Public Safety Standing Committee, with a focus on Ward 2

  • Attended and participated in the “Anne Arundel County Wear Orange” with Anne Arundel County’s Gun Violence Intervention Team, Busch Library

  • Attended and participated in the Third Annual No Harm Gun Violence Awareness and Prevention Fair, Roger 'Pip' Moyer Recreation Center—our flagship annual Fair to raise awareness of the impact of gun violence on our community and to provide tools and resources for combating violence in our communities, and where it is a family-focused event in partnership with Moms Demand Action, as well as a number of other City and Community Partners, including the Mayor’s NO HARM Team

  • Attended the Parole Health Center’s Scholarship Fundraiser Banquet, Pip Moyer Recreation Center

  • Attended, participated in, and was a Vendor (“Annapolis United” and “A Child Is Born” Awareness Exhibit) at the “Gun Violence Month, Community Cookout”, in the Harbour House-Eastport Terrace communities, Ward 6

  • Meeting with Sam Snead, Anne Arundel County, Director of Transportation, Riva Road Complex

  • Attended and participated in the Council’s monthly Transportation Standing Committee meeting

  • Checked in with Kohl’s, on site, regarding scheduling a Public Safety Assessment Team meeting, with Kohl’s Management (Store Manager and Assets Manager), with APD Captain Thacker (Patrol), and Ward 3 Community Liaison Debbie Odum, in response to a consistent and persistent theft/shoplifting problem, Ward 3; meeting has been scheduled for June 30

  • Joined the City’s Department of Planning & Zoning in celebration of Mrs. Maria Brown's 50th Anniversary with the City of Annapolis, at City Hall

  • Because I had a conflict and was unable to attend the new business “Fitzgerald Kia of Annapolis” on June 7, Ward 3, instead, I dropped in on June 13 to connect with them one-on-one

  • Delivered 100 City of Annapolis Sustainable Bags to Ms. Donna “Peaches” Johnson’s Community Pantry, Harbour House community, Ward 6

  • Was the Featured Guest Speaker at the BPOE Elks Regional Convention (MD, DC, DE, VA), “Bernard Harris, M.D. Achievement Awards” Banquet, Annapolis

  • Attended and participated in the two monthly City Council meetings

  • Attended and participated in a preliminary Public Safety Assessment Team meeting, with APD and the Ward 3 Community Liaison, Annapolis Gardens community, Ward 3

  • Attended and participated in the hosting of Mayor Yook of Chuncheon, South Korea, and his Delegation, on a visit to Annapolis, as well as officials from St. John's College, for the purpose of initiating a friendship city partnership with Chuncheon to support their academic exchange, where greetings were exchanged and a signed Letter of Intent was effectuated (which would ultimately be brought to the Council as a Resolution for a Friendship City relationship)

  • Attended and participated in the Juneteenth Celebration at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center, along with the Ward 3 Community Liaison

  • Marched in Annapolis’ Juneteenth Parade & Was a Vendor at Annapolis’ Juneteenth Festival, Crownsville Fair Grounds


Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Juneteenth Celebration - June 21, 2025



  • Attended, participated in, and spoke at the Second S. Southwood DPW Drainage Improvement Community Public Meeting, at the Busch Library; Note: CPJ (contractor) has completed their topographic survey work and hydraulic analysis and has some ideas to help with conveying stormwater more effectively. DPW had the meeting advertised and will use this to post any surveys related to the options being presented as well as to post the slides post-meeting. The meeting was attended by our Ward 3 Community Liaison.

  • Attended and participated in a VIRTUAL MEETING regarding the HAWK Beacon on West Street, at the Busch Library, regarding public safety, especially for our students who cross West Street, in response to a Germantown Elementary School student recently being hit by a vehicle in close proximity to that location, with attendees representing the

    Germantown-Homewood Civic Association, as well as the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration (MDOT, SHA), and State, County, and City elected officials and staff, Wards 2 & 3

  • Attended and participated in a 90-minute Public Safety Assessment Team meeting, with APD and the Ward 3 Community Liaison, Annapolis Gardens community, Ward 3

  • Attended two Meetings with the City’s Office of Law

  • Attended an on site/on the street meeting in Ward 3 regarding Quality of Life issues, along with residents, DPW, and the City’s Department of Transportation (parking contractors)

  • Attended the Retirement Appreciation Dinner for City Council Alderwoman Sheila M. Finlayson, Pip Moyer Recreation Center

  • Attended the virtual meeting, with the Fraternity and the City, for the “Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Community Engagement Cookout”, at Chambers Park, Ward 3

  • Followed up with Ms. Candi Sellman at home regarding an update on the Robinwood Community Day, Ward 6

  • Attended and spoke at the Retirement Party for Tira Kimbo, City Hall

  • The On-Site Public Safety Assessment Team meeting with Kohl’s Management was postponed until July 1
