As City of Annapolis Ward 3 Alderwoman, here is a list of activities I have participated in, meetings I have attended, and events I have supported in the month of April 2025:


  • Met and lunched with now retired Dr. Carol Benson (former Executive Director of the Chesapeake Crossroads Heritage Area, formerly, the Four Rivers Heritage Area) regarding an overview and some preliminary assessments of historical buildings, structures, locations, places, etc., in Annapolis

  • Was personally invited to attend and speak at the Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Andre Atkins—the heart and soul of the Eastport community—at the Eastport Community Center, Ward 6 

  • Attended the monthly Caucus of African American Leaders meeting


    Annapolis Maritime Resilience Initiative Community Presentation | April 8

  • Attended the Annapolis Maritime Resilience Initiative (AMRI) Community Presentation, presented by the Eastport Civic Association, at the Eastport U.M. Church, with a focus on Wards 6, 7, 8


    The Future of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County | April 9


  • Attended the half-day Bisnow Conference at Maryland Hall: “The Future of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County: Building Anne Arundel—Infrastructure, Economic Growth and Investment Opportunities, diving into the latest infrastructure development, economic growth strategies and emerging investment opportunities that will drive the county’s future growth and competitiveness”; AND “The Future of Development: Multifamily, Retail and Industrial in Focus, exploring the latest development an investment pipeline, focusing on growth opportunities, evolving market trends, strategies for changing consumer demands”, where Mayor Buckley provided the Keynote Opening Remarks, with a Panel Discussion that followed with esteemed leaders from: Anne Arundel County Government Transportation (Director), Elm Street Development (Regional Partner), Hogan Companies (President), Annapolis Capital Partners (Managing Partner), Rockefeller Group (Director), and with a well known regional Realtor serving as the Moderator, with approximately 150 attendees


    Anne Arundel Women Giving Together Open House | April 9


  • Was asked to join (and I accepted) and to attend the Spring Open House of the Anne Arundel Women Giving Together

  • Attended and participated in the two monthly City Council meetings


    Charting Careers and the Annapolis Gardens Community’s Eggstravaganza | April 15


  • Met with the leadership of the Annapolis Gardens Property Office combined with Charting Careers regarding the upcoming Easter “Eggtravaganza” for the children (and I provided a personal donation in support of this endeavor), Ward 3


    US Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth’s Town Hall | April 15


  • Attended U.S. Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth’s Mobile Town Hall, Michael E. Busch, Anne Arundel County Public Library, West Street, Annapolis


    University of Maryland Law School Alumni Board Meeting | April 16

  • Was invited to apply, was accepted, and joined the University of Maryland Carey School of Law Alumni Board, and attended the first meeting of the Board, Baltimore


    Ward 3 - Ribbon Cutting/Grand Opening | April 17


  • Attended the ribbon-cutting and grand opening of the “Vintage Vibe Finds and Artfully Acquired” business, Hudson Street, Ward 3


    Volunteers Appreciation Breakfast - Germantown Elementary School - Ward 2 | April 23


  • Attended the Special Breakfast, in heartfelt appreciation for everything that volunteers do and contribute to Germantown Elementary School (having served on their “Community Schools Steering Committee” during the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years), which included performances by their talented Band and Strings, and Chorus students, Ward 2

  • Was invited and attended the Open House at the Annapolis Gardens Community Center where there was a Ribbon Cutting for their new Community Pantry, Ward 3


    Second Community Listening Session - First Baptist Church | April 24


  • Attended the Second Listening Session for and in support of the Clay Street Corridor Community, First Baptist Church, Ward 2


    Germantown Homewood Civic Association | April 25


  • Attended, participated, and supported the “Safe Walk to School Call to Action”

    Germantown-Homewood Civic Association, Ward 2, on-site meeting, Michael E. Busch Anne Arundel County Public Library, West Street, as a result of a Germantown Elementary School student being struck earlier in the week near this location


    UM Law Retirement Celebration | April 25


  • Attended the Retirement Celebration for UM Law Professors Larry S. Gibson and Michael Millemann—combined, 100 years of serving and teaching at the Law School; and where 2 of the Guest Speakers were Maryland Governor Wes Moore and Lt. Governor Aruna Miller


    Annual City of Annapolis Greenscape - Ward 3 | April 26


  • Again, attended and supported the Annual City of Annapolis Greenscape, Chambers Park, Ward 3, with the very active and continuous participation of the AKA Sorority and the Greater Parole Community Association

  • Met with the City Planning and Zoning Department’s leadership Eric Leshinsky and Mike Meekins regarding AutoZone (which is scheduled to take the place of, now vacant since September 1, 2021, Chris’ Charcoal Pit, as a result of Tornado Ida), and the upcoming Planning Commission meeting, Ward 3


Comprehensive Redistricting Community Meeting, Phase 2 -

Annapolis Middle School | April 29


  • Attended the Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Community Meeting regarding Phase 2 of the Comprehensive Redistricting Proposed Plan, Annapolis area, Annapolis Middle School
